WooCommerce shows you the order total. It doesn’t show you what you actually made after the product cost, the payment processor’s cut, and shipping came out. Order Profit Calculator adds that number directly to each order’s admin screen.
How it works
- Set a cost price on each product (or each variation, for variable products) under its own “Profit Calculator” tab.
- When an order is placed, the cost price, processor fee %, and shipping cost estimate that applied at that time are frozen into the order. Editing a product’s cost price later never changes the profit shown on past orders — the same way WooCommerce itself never lets a price change retroactively alter an old order’s total.
- A “Recalculate” link on the order screen lets you force a fresh calculation from today’s settings, for fixing a mistake after the fact.
- Partial refunds are accounted for: the cost of goods for refunded quantity is backed out of the profit figure, using WooCommerce’s own refund records.
Pro features
- Payment processor fee configured per gateway (Stripe, PayPal, cash on delivery, …) instead of one flat percentage.
- Shipping cost estimate configured per shipping method, plus a manual override on individual orders.
- Profit reports dashboard: totals, a daily profit chart, and a top/bottom products by margin chart, backed by tables of the exact figures over any date range.
- CSV export of order profit data for any date range.
- Bulk CSV import of cost prices (SKU or product ID + cost price).
- Cost price history: an audit log of every change to a product’s cost price over time.
The free version covers full per-order profit calculation with a flat fee % and flat shipping estimate — pro adds per-gateway/per-method precision, a reporting dashboard with charts, and bulk tools.

- Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.
- Upload the
order-profit-calculatorfolder to/wp-content/plugins/(or install through Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin if you have a .zip). - Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in the WordPress admin.
- Set cost prices on your products (Product Data > Profit Calculator tab), then set your processor fee % and shipping cost estimate under WooCommerce > Settings > Profit Calculator.

Does changing a product’s cost price change the profit shown on old orders?

No. The cost price used for an order is frozen at the time the order is placed, exactly like WooCommerce freezes the product price on the order itself. Use the “Recalculate” link on an individual order if you need to correct a mistake.

What if a product never had a cost price set?

The order still shows a profit box, with a note listing which product(s) are missing a cost price and a link to set it. The margin is marked as partial until it’s filled in.

What happens to profit when an order is refunded?

Cost of goods is reduced for the quantity actually refunded (using WooCommerce’s own refund records), but the payment processor fee and shipping cost are not — processors generally keep their fee on a refund, and shipping you already paid for doesn’t come back. A fully refunded order shows as a loss (the fee and shipping cost, with nothing recovered), not as a $0 wash.

Does this work if my store sells in more than one currency?

Cost prices are entered in your store’s own currency. If an order was placed in a different currency (via a multi-currency plugin), the order is flagged with a warning rather than silently converting it — WooCommerce itself doesn’t provide a reliable historical exchange rate, so an automatic conversion would risk being confidently wrong. You can still see the figures; just double-check them for orders in a different currency.

Is this compatible with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)?

Yes. Order Profit Calculator declares HPOS compatibility and reads/writes order data exclusively through WooCommerce’s own CRUD API, so it works whether your store has HPOS enabled or is still on the legacy post-based order storage.

I have the same shipping method or payment gateway in more than one zone, at different rates — can I set a different override for each?

Not in v1. Per-gateway and per-shipping-method overrides (pro) are set once per method type (e.g. one rate for “Flat rate”), not per zone. If you run “Flat rate” at different costs in different shipping zones, the override applies the same figure everywhere that method is used. This only affects the pro per-method override table — the flat default fee/shipping estimate always works regardless of zones.
