ຄຳອະທິບາຍ
EventMate AI Event Assistant adds a floating chat / wizard bubble to your public WordPress site. Visitors can describe an event, refine packages, and submit an intake request.
This plugin is an interface to the EventMate software-as-a-service. An EventMate account and widget publish token are required. The publish token is a public embed credential (stored in WordPress options and output on pages where the bubble loads) so the widget can start an intake session; it is not a WordPress admin password.
The widget only works on the website registered for your venue in EventMate (and its subdomains, such as events.your-domain.com).
External services
This plugin connects to the following external services. Nothing is sent until you save an API base URL and publish token under Settings EventMate AI.
EventMate API
The widget is powered by the EventMate service. It is required for the plugin to work.
- What is sent: when a visitor opens the bubble, the publish token is sent to start a session. While the visitor uses the widget, their answers (event type, date, number of guests, budget, wishes, chat messages) are sent to generate proposals. When the visitor submits a request, the name, email address, phone number and message they enter are sent so the venue receives the lead. The visitor’s IP address and browser user agent are recorded for abuse protection.
- Where:
https://api.event-mate.nlby default, or the API base URL you configure. - The “Powered by EventMate” credit is returned by the EventMate API as part of the service response; the plugin does not add any credit or link by itself.
- Terms of service: https://app.event-mate.nl/algemene-voorwaarden
- Privacy policy: https://app.event-mate.nl/privacy
Google Fonts
The widget loads the Onest typeface from Google Fonts for typography. When the bubble loads, the visitor’s browser requests the font stylesheet and font files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which shares the visitor’s IP address and user agent with Google.
- Terms of service: https://developers.google.com/fonts/terms
- Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
PDOK Locatieserver (Kadaster)
Only for venues that offer catering at another location: when a visitor types the event address, the typed text is sent to the Dutch government PDOK Locatieserver (api.pdok.nl) to suggest and geocode addresses, so travel costs can be calculated. No other data is sent.

Source code
The bundled public/dist/eventmate-widget.js is compiled from the React/TypeScript sources included in the source/ folder of this plugin. A source map (eventmate-widget.js.map) is included next to the bundle.
To rebuild it from the source/ folder:
npm ci && npx vite build --config vite.widget.config.ts
The output is written to wordpress/eventmate-ai-event-assistant/public/dist/.
ການຕິດຕັ້ງ
- Upload the plugin folder to
wp-content/plugins/eventmate-ai-event-assistant(or install the zip via Plugins Add New Upload) and activate it. - In WP admin: Settings EventMate AI, enter your publish token (API base defaults to
https://api.event-mate.nl/api/v1; override only for staging or a custom API host). - In EventMate, set the website URL of your venue. The widget accepts that domain and its subdomains.
- The chat bubble appears automatically on every public page. No shortcode.
The publish token lives in the EventMate dashboard under Widget / embed.
ຄຳຖາມທີ່ພົບເລື້ອຍ
-
Does this work without EventMate?
-
No. The plugin embeds the EventMate widget and requires a reachable EventMate API plus publish token.
-
Is the publish token secret?
-
Treat it as an embed credential: anyone who can view your public pages can see it in page HTML. It only works on your registered website. Rotate it from the EventMate dashboard if it is abused. Only users with
manage_optionscan change it in WordPress. -
I updated the plugin and the bubble is gone
-
Deleting the plugin in WordPress removes its settings, including the publish token. Paste the token again under Settings EventMate AI. To update without losing settings, upload the new zip and choose “Replace current with uploaded”.
-
Can I turn the bubble off on some pages?
-
In this version the bubble loads site-wide on public pages once API base + token are set.

- New: items priced per piece (e.g. sharing boards) get a quantity stepper on the ticket.

- Fix: a plain “yes” after the assistant offers a specific extra now adds that extra to the proposal.

- Fix: changing the guest count after proposals no longer shows a misleading “no lighter options” notice.
0.1.21

0.1.20
- Fix: the wishes steps (“Stap 4 van 5”) fill the panel instead of a short card with an empty area below.
