Dran Admin Cleaner

ຄຳອະທິບາຍ

Dran Admin Cleaner helps you simplify the WordPress admin area by removing unnecessary interface clutter without changing user roles or capabilities.

Hide unwanted admin menu items, dashboard widgets, and toolbar items. Organize admin notices and add soft page locks to reduce accidental access to selected admin pages.

Whether you manage your own website, maintain multiple WordPress sites, or build websites for clients, Dran Admin Cleaner helps create a cleaner, more focused admin experience.

Important: Dran Admin Cleaner is not a security plugin, role editor, or capability manager. Hiding a menu item only changes the admin interface. Page Locks help reduce accidental direct access, but WordPress capabilities remain the real permission system.

Key Features

  • Menu Cleaner: hide, rename, reorder, and quickly lock WordPress admin menu items.
  • Page Locks: redirect selected admin pages and show a notice when a matched user tries to open them directly.
  • Preview: review the saved admin menu experience by role or user before handoff.
  • Dashboard Cleaner: hide selected Dashboard widgets and the WordPress Welcome Panel.
  • Admin Bar Cleaner: discover toolbar items from WordPress and plugins, browse parents and submenus in a searchable tree, and hide selected items while keeping account and logout controls protected.
  • Notice Cleaner: collapse non-critical notices into a tray while leaving warnings, errors, and update nags visible.
  • Presets: start from common handoff setups, then adjust the rules.
  • Recovery: owner bypass, Safe Mode, and Recovery URL support help avoid lockout.
  • Backup / Restore: export and restore JSON backups for review and same-site recovery.
  • Audit Log: keep a lightweight record of important configuration changes.
  • Agency Guide: built-in documentation for setup and client handoff.

What It Does Not Do

  • It does not modify WordPress core files.
  • It does not rewrite user roles or capabilities.
  • It does not provide absolute security against administrators.
  • It does not hide critical warnings aggressively.
  • It does not send data to external services or collect telemetry.

Languages

Dran Admin Cleaner includes bundled translations for multiple languages.

Currently available:

  • Japanese (ja)
  • Simplified Chinese (zh_CN)

Translations cover the plugin settings interface and the built-in Agency Guide.

WordPress uses the selected user language when available, otherwise the site language is used. Custom menu labels and saved Page Lock messages remain as configured; changing the WordPress language does not rewrite saved rules.

Privacy

Dran Admin Cleaner stores plugin settings, cleanup rules, recovery token hashes, selected user IDs, detected dashboard widget IDs, and lightweight audit entries in the local WordPress database.

For owners and authorized plugin managers, it also caches detected toolbar item IDs, labels, and parent IDs locally, with up to 300 items per user. The cache expires one day after its most recent update. Browser discovery sends these items only to the same WordPress site.

The plugin does not send data to external services.

ຄຳຖາມທີ່ພົບເລື້ອຍ

Does Dran Admin Cleaner change user permissions?

No. Dran Admin Cleaner does not change WordPress roles or capabilities. It changes the admin experience and can add soft Page Locks for selected admin URLs.

Is this a security plugin?

No. It helps prevent accidental access and reduces admin complexity, but it does not replace WordPress capabilities, security plugins, or a proper user role strategy.

What is the difference between hiding and locking?

Hide removes a menu or submenu item from the admin interface. Lock blocks a matched direct wp-admin URL with a redirect or blocked-page notice.

What happens if I lock myself out?

Owners and authorized plugin managers bypass cleanup rules. The plugin also includes Safe Mode, a DRAN_AC_SAFE_MODE constant override, and a Recovery URL flow with explicit confirmation for administrator-level recovery access.

Can I use exported settings on another site?

Exports are best for backup, review, and same-site restore. Cross-site restores should be reviewed carefully because user IDs, roles, and plugin menu slugs can differ between sites.

Does Notice Cleaner hide critical admin notices?

No. Notice Cleaner is intentionally conservative. It collapses lower-risk notices and keeps errors, warnings, and update nags visible.

Does it support plugin-created admin menus?

Yes. Dran Admin Cleaner detects WordPress admin menus and submenus from core and plugins, then stores rules by stable menu targets instead of visible labels.

How do I find toolbar items added by other plugins?

As an owner or authorized plugin manager, visit the relevant admin and frontend pages with the WordPress toolbar visible, then reload Admin Bar Cleaner. Discovery is automatic and includes items added by JavaScript. You can search the list by name or item ID. The “On this page” group follows the current toolbar order. Items that appear elsewhere are kept in the collapsible “Other pages and screen sizes” group with context hints. Search and selected-only filtering include both groups, and previously saved selections remain available.

Does hiding a toolbar parent also hide its submenu?

Yes. Hiding a parent also hides its submenu items. Expand the parent to select individual submenu items instead. Account, logout, and the mobile admin menu toggle stay protected. Cleanup follows the Global Audience; use an account in that audience to verify the result because owners and authorized plugin managers bypass cleanup.

Will deactivating or deleting the plugin remove my settings?

Deactivation keeps your configuration. Deleting the plugin through WordPress also keeps configuration data by default. To remove stored configuration, enable “Delete plugin data on uninstall” in the Recovery tab before deleting the plugin. Temporary caches expire automatically.

Can I network activate it on WordPress Multisite?

No. Network activation is not supported. Activate the plugin separately on each site where it is needed.
