But how many of these do you actually use? If you’re like me, only a handful. The rest simply clutter up the Widgets admin page making it more difficult to manage. This plugin does one thing and does it well. It allows you to disable the widgets you’re not using. Usage is very simple and straight forward. Go to the Settings : Disable Widgets admin page, add a check mark to each widget you wish to disable and click the `Update Settings` button. Just show what you want to use or support. I was deciding whether to move my own disable widgets utility out to a plugin when I searched and found this. It does a better job. Here are some scenarios I went through: * It manages all widgets, not just core Wordpress widgets. * Disable a widget and it remembers so you can come back to re-enable. * Deactivate the same widget at it’s source, a plugin, and it disappears from this list. * Reactivate at it’s source and it not only reappears in this list, but this plugin remembers that it was disabled. All is good.
